Kagawa Keen On his Ping Pong

After seeing Manchester United’s newest signing Kagawa holding up a few signed Table Tennis bats after his last interviews before he flew over to the UK, it got ADPP wanting to investigate further.

We found out that the Borussia Dortmund player and Japanese star is a keen player who swapped the football pitch for the press box on 25 Mar 2012 – 01 Apr 2012 to commentate on his country’s 3-0 victory over Poland at the world team table tennis championships.

“I’m delighted by Japan’s victory. It was the most important thing for me,” said Kagawa, who commentated on the match for Japanese television.

Kagawa, 23, later presented a Dortmund jersey to his female compatriot Ai Fukuhara, the star of Japanese table tennis, who offered Kagawa two signed racquets in return.

Japan’s women’s team are unbeaten after three group-phase matches, having also enjoyed 3-1 victories over Spain and Serbia.

Kagawa has joined from current German Champions Dortmund. He will be keen to impress his new fans on the pitch, but ADPP hopes he will impress on the ‘table’ as well! We think it is only a matter of time before the Japanese super-star will feature on Youtube showing off some of his Table Tennis ‘Tekkers’!

Other Famous Footballer Players

ADPP are going to keep close tabs on the player, and hope that he teaches the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney how to play a little better! If you check out the video below you will find out why they may need a little practice!

Because there is a bit of theme going on here with famous footballers playing the sport we all love, we though we would also include the video below of the Barcelona stars, Gerard Piqué & Cesc Fàbregas, showing their skills on the table!
